Google's New Firefox Extensions

Google released two new fire fox extensions:
Blogger Web Comments for Firefox is an extension that makes it easy to see what bloggers are saying about a page you're viewing in Firefox and even make your own blog post about it, all without leaving the page you're on.

This will be about the page you are viewing. With this Google will be collecting all the information about the sites we are visiting. That means it will be getting a lot of information on how a particular person is browsing the net. Which means you be getting one feature that seems very attractive and at the same time you might be giving someting to the google also.

Google Safe Browsing is an extension to Firefox that alerts you if a web page that you visit appears to be asking for your personal or financial information under false pretences. This type of attack, known as phishing or spoofing, is becoming more sophisticated, widespread and dangerous. That's why it's important to browse safely with Google Safe Browsing. By combining advanced algorithms with reports about misleading pages from a number of sources, Safe Browsing is often able to automatically warn you when you encounter a page that's trying to trick you into disclosing personal information.

The timing of the release has also triggered some suspicion based on the recent rumours.

Gmail's RSS Clips

Google's Gmail has now introduced Gmail Clips. This Clips allows you to randomly watch the stories from your favorite blog or website in a similar manner to how RSS feeds work. May be google started integrating the Google Reader into the Gmail.

But any other RSS Reader will be more functional that this Gmail Clips. But we can see this in another way Jared Jacobs(GMail Engineer) said
Ever get the feeling that your email experience is a little too predictable? I certainly have. Over the past few months, I've been working on Gmail Clips, a new feature that can help mix things up a bit.... I had a lot of fun working on this feature, and biased as I may be, I have to say I really love Clips. No new mail? Great, then I have time to read why pasta is made in different shapes. And even if I do have mail I should be getting to, maybe I'm in the mood to digress for a moment and investigate The Divine Secrets of the Cycle Commuter.

I too am feeling the same from many days, getting bored when I am not getting any mails. So this feature will be really great for guys like me.

But at the same time there are some questions with the privacy as well.
